What makes them better? It's always the ingredients. These are not made with flour, sugar, and a little cocoa and flavor. These are made with a ton of cocoa, really good Ramstadt Breda cocoa. (See the reviews on the cocoa.) That makes them better--more cocoa, better cocoa. A grocery store couldn't afford to sell these brownies. The ingredients are too expensive.
