What makes The Bulldog a better kind of back scratcher? Its bristles, of course! The Bulldog uses the same kind of brush technology used by physical-therapy brushes to stimulate the skin. The Bulldog’s bristles excite your skin’s nerve endings to overwhelm even the toughest itch, while at the same time sending cascades of pleasurable feelings throughout the affected area. It literally feels AMAZING. It’s like magic, but with one limitation; it only works on bare, dry skin. Its bristles are specially “tuned” to the gently, but firmly, stimulate skin. So while The Bulldog works great on bare skin, it is much less effective when applied over clothing. Why not just use a bath brush as a back scratcher? Two reasons: First of all, bath brush bristles are much less firm. They simply cannot stimulate the skin enough to itch the scratch; Second of all, the shape is much less effective. Bath brushes simply have too many bristles. That’s right, TOO many! We tested dozens of bristle configurations, and learned that more bristles do NOT lead to a better back scratch. In fact, it’s quite the opposite; the more bristles, the less effective the results. By careful testing, we learned, perhaps unsurprisingly, that the best bristle configuration matches the shape of the human hand while scratching a back, eg, a narrow row of bristles arrayed in a moderate curve.
