At some point in early history, humans realized that soap could be made with the ashes of plants and fats. This natural form of soap preceded modern soap making by thousands of years. West African ancient soap making was taken a few steps further and African Black Soap was created. plantain and cacao pods are made into ash and cooked with local palm oil and shea butter until the soap turns black. This blackening process of the soap ash creates a highly healing soap that is famed for amazing feats. From ridding cystic acne to making skin look years younger, true African Black Soap helps produce radiant skin without harsh chemicals.
To produce our African Black Soap bars, we combine African Black Soap with nourishing organic shea butter, organic coconut cream oil, and organic virgin olive oils and kettle cook them in a modern soap making method to make our final bar. Out bars are handcrafted and not mass produced in soap mills. The result is a very nourishing bar of soap brimming with humectant glycerin.
