Job's Tears (Coix Lacryma-Jobi) has densely leafy up straight stems up to 60 cm high. The leaves are long, light green in color, resembling cane or corn leaves in shape. Inflorescences are axillary, complex, racemose, formed from the sinuses of the upper leaves. The lower part of the inflorescences is pistillate, consists of one spikelet in which there is one female white flower and the rudiments of two other flowers. The stamen upper part of the inflorescence is a thick false spikelet, consists of 10-15 two- or three-flowered stamen spikelets. Flowering of Job's Tears is observed in August-September. The false fruit of Job's Tears is up to 1.5 cm in diameter, ovoid or spherical, shiny on top, very dense, resembles a stone, pearl grayish in color, or yellowish white, when it ripens it becomes blue or brown.
