A lacquer coating is applied to the plated floor registers to help protect from wear. Mission floor registers have a metal heavy duty aluminum damper which is adjustable. Metal heavy duty aluminum damper can be removed if desired. You can use the Mission floor registers as wall vent covers simply by attaching wall clips(sold separately) to the back of the cover.
